SEARSLY? WILLY?

The iconic 110 ft Sears Tower of Chicago is about to get a name change.
And Chicagoans everywhere are not happy about it. Chicago hasn't been too great preserving its history as numerous historical and iconic landmarks got unpopular upgrades and changes. Starting with Comiskey Park, Soldier's Field, Marshall Fields and other landmarks are not the same. And now, Sears Tower is about to suffer the same faith as it will now be known as the Willis Tower starting Summer 09. A Petition to keep the name Sears Tower was started and already within a couple of weeks over 20,000 signatures have been collected and is receiving worldwide attention. Talk about Chicagoans coming together and achieving together to fight for what they believe in.

Sadly too little may be done too late. But Willis Tower or not, the nation's tallest tower will stay Sears Tower to so many Chicagoans.
